RE 6

Short Story by Jim Blow
A Time Traveller original idea from the author that brought you Heroes in odd Places.
Wylock Roger and Leo

The Reoccurring.

Part I

Chapter iiiii

2008

"...2058, 2057, 2056, 2055, 2054, 2053, 2050, 2049--"
A white light flashed and the time travellers were suddenly in the year 2049.
"2049. So some time this year everything goes wrong and time is blocked. I wonder why that--" Wylock started.
"I think I found out." Roger mumbled, staring in awe at the scene around them.
Wylock looked around.
Chaos.
Fires. Burning. Smoke.
Chaos.
Running. Savages. Confusion.
Chaos. Chaos. Chaos.
"What happened?" Roger asked. People were running. Being chased by each other. Fires were everywhere. Civilization was...gone.
"Clearly to find out what happened here, we need to go back in time another year or so." Wylock muttered, twisting the dial on his Time Jumper to 2048.
Nothing happened.
Roger frowned. "What does that mean?"
"It would appear," Wylock stared. "That we are stuck in this time period for some unkown amount of time."
Roger pulled out his gun. "We start over then."
Wylock grabbed the gun away. "No! We aren't in a Loop, thus, we can't ride the Loop back to 2008 like normal. We're going to have to wait for another Loop and breaking of Physics."
"Or wait for Leo to find us and kill us." Roger said, sitting down.
"We need to focus on the now. Solve this crisis. What happened here!?"
Roger shrugged.
Suddenly another version of Wylock stepped up to them. "I've been waiting here for you for 20 years!" he said. "For sake of keeping things less confusing...call me Whitelock."
Roger rolled his eyes. "That's helpful."
"Whitelock," Wylock said, staring as if at a mirror. "What am I--I mean you doing here?"
"When I was stuck with my version of Roger here, we tried drastic measures to get away. Roger's dead now, and I'm stranded. Do Not Use The Time Jumpers To Go Back. Okay?"
Wylock just nodded. Apparently his other self tried to get away...and it didn't work so well for him.
The people around Wylock and Roger suddenly turned to them, and started chasing.

RE 5

Short Story by Jim Blow
A Time Traveller original idea from the author that brought you Heroes in odd Places.
Wylock Roger and Leo

The Reoccurring.

Part I

Chapter iiii

2008

A white light faded.
"Are you listening?" Leo asked.
Wylock nodded.
"It's broken! The thing's imploding!" Leo shouted.
"Shut it down."
"We'll have to do it manually!"
Leo climbed down to the TIME PORTAL. Leo reached up and flipped a switch, suddenly his feet slid out from under him and he flew upward, then sideways into the portal. It closed.
"We're back where we started again."
"And once again we'll try to solve all of this!"
"Why do we come back here?" Roger asked, looking around the destroyed lab, and the collapsed TIME PORTAL.
"I don't know. I assume because this is where it all started."
"I don't understand time."
"You're in good company."
"Where to now?"
"That globe is the key. We need to find some way to get back to it. To track it somehow."
"To me this just sounds like a load of Trial And Error."
"Lets just go back to the exact time it appeared in 2000. Set your Time Jumper."
Nothing happened.
"What does that mean?" Roger asked, looking at his time travelling device.
"That time has been blocked off. Just like 2008. The Time Jumpers can't travel to those times now. I don't know why, so don't ask.
"What now?""
"Well, we just tried where this all started...I say we see where it ends."
"What do you mean?"
Wylock frowned. "Set your Time Jumper to the year 3000"
"Isn't that dangerous?"
"Extremely." Wylock grinned and set his own Time Jumper.
Nothing happened.
"Told you." Roger said smugly.
"No. It's not like we can't. That time is blocked off too."
"Maybe we should try an earlier year."
"Good idea. Go to 2085."
Nothing happened.
"It would seem like a huge chunk of the future is blocked. We need to find out when this first blocked off. Try every year starting at 3000, and work your way down. First year we can get out to, we will. I want to know why that time is blocked."
"All of this is just so hard. Loops. Portals. Time. Future. Present. Past. Relativity."
"2999, 2998, 2997, 2996, 2995..."

RE 4

Short Story by Jim Blow
A Time Traveller original idea from the author that brought you Heroes in odd Places.
Wylock Roger and Leo

The Reoccurring.

Part I

Chapter iii

2000

Wylock stood up. "Careful Roger, we must not interact with out other selves. The 'us' of this time."
"What happened to 'Time can't become any more damaged than it already is'?" Roger asked, rolling his eyes.
Instead of responding, Wylock looked out from the closet he and Roger were hiding in. "There we are. And there's the rest of the original Time Travellers! What a great group! I miss them sorely."
"Why don't we just save them? You and I are the only ones that survived that awful night. Why can't we just save their lives now?"
"Catastrophic! No!"
"Why don't we go back to when you first started building the Time Portal, and just stop you?" Roger asked.
"Because if you try to tell the Time Jumpers to go to 2008 it won't let you!" Wylock hissed. "How many times do we have to talk about this!?"
"Okay Okay. One last thing. What are we even looking for that can help us save the Line?"
"It was your idea to come back to this time period. If I knew the answer to that, I would've already saved the Timeline."
"I know. Still, I don't know why we bounce about time trying to fix it, when we don't know how."
"Shhh. Look! There's us leaving to follow Fernando."
"I wish we'd never done that."
"No time for sorries now. Follow me. We're going to tomorrow. That's when we finally stop Fernando!"
"As if you need to remind me."

'Tomorrow'

Wylock looked around. He spotted his old young self quickly. Fernando had just taken a bullet to the leg, and was now hunkered down behind a car. Other Roger was leaned up against a fence, reloading a gun. Roger knelt next to Wylock, watching the scene play out for the second time in his life. Wylock frowned, watching as Other Him jumped out from behind a garbage can to attract the traitorous Fernando's attention. As soon as Fernando turned to shoot, Other Roger jumped out and shot to kill. Fernando--and the other Time Travellers--died that night. Rain began to fall.
"Follow me." Wylock murmured, stepping toward the scene. Other Him and Other Roger had left long ago using the Time Jumpers--at the time, basic designs for Time Travel.
Roger followed Wylock out into the street where he saw what Wylock had seen.
"What is that!?" Roger asked, looking at the large yellow globe.
"The key to our problems...I hope."
The ball vanished.
"Hey! Where'd it go?" Roger asked, looking up into thin air.
"If my theory is correct," Wylock muttered "It's vanished into Time."
"Okay... What does that mean?"
"We've lost it."
Just then the ball appeared again.
"We're in luck!" Wylock shouted, jumping to try to grab hold of the ball. "It seems this sphere only travelled a few seconds into Time. We have it! Give me a boost, will you?"
Just then a shot rang through the air.
Leo was here.
Roger shoved Wylock, and the two sprinted away, weaving their path to avoid the deadly shots. They stopped inside a building.
Wylock peered out the window and saw Leo coming toward them. The Time Sphere was gone again now.
"What do we do?" Roger asked. "The ball is gone, and Leo is going to kill us. Then there's NO hope."
"I know, I know. Give me a second to think."
Roger looked at a glass of water abandoned on the counter. He grabbed it and shook it up a bit.
"Then allow me to think."
"PHYSICS CHECK!!"
The water floated out of the glass. Wylock groaned. He stepped out of the house and called to Leo. The crazed man shot first at Wylock, then Roger.
Both shots were dead on.

RE 3

Short Story by Jim Blow
A Time Traveller original idea from the author that brought you Heroes in odd Places.
Wylock Roger and Leo

The Reoccurring.

Part I

Chapter ii

2008

A white light faded. Wylock brought his hands away from his eyes.
"Are you listening?" Leo asked, looking at the professor.
Wylock nodded. "What is it?"
"It's broken! The thing's imploding!" Leo shouted.
Wylock looked over at Roger. Roger nodded and they split into action.
"Shut it down."
"I can't."
"We'll have to do it manually!"
Leo climbed down to the TIME PORTAL. Strange purple fumes spat out from within the vortex. Leo reached up and flipped a switch, suddenly his feet slid out from under him and he flew upward, then sideways into the portal. It closed, swallowing him up.
"The portal's shaking." Roger said, walking over to Wylock.
"And now it's done." Wylock muttered, turning away.
"We're back where we started again."
"And once again we'll try to solve all of this!"
"I'm with you to the end Professor."
"I know you are, Roger. I know."
"Why do we come back here?" Roger asked, looking around the destroyed lab, and the collapsed TIME PORTAL.
"I don't know. I assume because this is where it all started."
"I don't understand time."
"Few do."
"I believed for the longest time that it was only possible to go forward in time. You know. If I were to go up in space, time would be different for me than it was for people on the planet here. I'd be going forward in time....at least in a sense I would."
"Time is a great mystery. Clocks tick on when Time Stands Still. Nothing makes sense to me anymore."
"So we take another crack at it. Straighten out the Line."
"I wish I'd never invented this confounded portal...and the Time Jumpers in the first place!"
"The first place. That's where we'll try this time."
"I beg your pardon."
"Every time we get here we go somewhere else in time to try to straighten out the Line we disrupted. I say this time we go back to when you first invented the Time Jumpers themselves."
Wylock nodded. "It wasn't a pretty time."
"Is any of time 'pretty' anymore, doc?"
Wylock shrugged. "I suppose not."
Roger and the old scientist raised the Time Jumpers to their faces, twisting the dial backward to go back in time. "Leo will be there. Will that change what happened there?"
"I don't think time can get any worse than it is."

RE 2

Short Story by Jim Blow
A Time Traveller original idea from the author that brought you Heroes in odd Places.
Wylock Roger and Leo

The Reoccurring.

PART I

chapter i

2022

Wylock appeared on the ground, breathing heavily.
Roger knelt down next to him. "You ran into Leo, didn't you?"
Wylock nodded, cringing.
Roger ran into the next room and returned with a small glowing blue box. He placed it on Wylock's chest, and activated it. The machine hummed quietly, then stopped. Roger moved it out of the way and inspected Wylock's wound. It was completely healed.
"What do we do now?" Roger asked, slumping back against the wall.
"We need to start over. The timeline is still looping randomly. We must tread carefully now." Wylock warned.
"And we need some way to prevent Leo from tracking our Time Jumpers whenever we bounce about."
"Right. Him. I'm just wondering Wylock. How are we--"
"Stop talking Roger."
"What's the matter? I just wanted to--"
"Shh! Look!" Wylock whisper-shouted, pointing at a pencil that had just rolled off a nearby counter.
Roger frowned. The pencil floated up to the ceiling.
"Physics is--"
"I know." Wylock frowned, sadly. "Do it. We'll have to try again."
Roger pulled a gun out of his pocket. "It's reoccurring."
He shot Wylock. Then himself.
Once again their mistake had caught up with them.

RE 1

HAPPY BACK TO THE FUTURE DAY
from all the sci-fi lovers here at Blow Headquarters.

Short Story by Jim Blow
A Time Traveller original idea from the author that brought you Heroes in odd Places.
Wylock Roger and Leo

The Reoccurring.

Part 0

2015

Mr. Wylock frowned. Something was off about this whole thing. John Wylock turned around, lifting his protective goggles to get a better look at the man behind him.
"I didn't think you'd have the guts to show up." Wylock said, shaking his head.
"You knew I would, though. Didn't you Doc. You've been to the future." the figure growled.
"The future." Wylcok mumbled. "An awful thing the future. But it can be changed."
"By who?"
"Who else? Me. I've got to fix all of this. It's my fault the future is as it is now! I should never have brought Roger into all of this."
"Roger? ROGER!"
"Calm down. I'll fix it."
"There's no fixing what you've done. You messed with time, now it's coming back around for you."
"I didn't mean to disrupt the time line!"
The figure lifted a concealed weapon from his coat and pointed it at the professor. He pulled the trigger. Wylock sunk to the ground.
"Only a coward would shoot a man in the back," Wylock mumbled. Then, with a grunt, he twisted a dial on the Time Jumpers.
He vanished into time.

Izing

Author's Note: This idea was conceived with the knowledge of the realistic meanings of each word. Do not think you are smarter than me. You aren't.

IZING

There are opposites in this world. Some obvious, like Hate and Love or Good and Evil, some are less obvious.
Two of these opposites consist of MECHA and ORGA. Mecha meaning machine, and Orga meaning living.

Mechanic is someone who repairs machines.
But...
Organic is not somebody who repairs people.

Mechanical is something made of machines.
However...
Organical is not a word.

Mechanism means parts working together to make a machine.
Though...
Organism is a unit of life.

Mechanelle is not a word.
Nevertheless...
Organelle is a type of cell.

To Mechanize something means to make it mechanical.
I so...
To Organize doesn't mean to give something life.

Bonus Tangent: Despite

If you say "Despite the circumstances, it was all together ironic." it makes sense. But you can't say "Despising the circumstances, it was all together ironic."

Potatoes

What if you were a potato?

If you were a potato, I do not believe you would be a very good potato...
You see, there are many different kinds of potatoes.
Mashed
Fried
Raw
Red
Russet
White
Yellow
Purple/Blue
Fingerling
Petite
ETC....

So, If you were a potato, what kind of potato would you be?

Now that you have selected your type, think about this:

Would other people like you, if you were that kind of potato?

I'm particular to Raw potatoes. They're tasty. So if you were a potato, but you weren't the raw one, would I like you?

Probably not.

Therefore,
If you were a potato, I do not believe you would be a very good potato...

"Whatever you are, be a good one."

Book Review

DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!

This book is entirely wrong. The whole plot revolves around one stinking subject. Luckily for you, the title makes that clear from the beginning. But it's pointless! There isn't a mystery, a conflict, character development, a climax, or anything of that purpose! In fact, the cover of the book illustrates not only what it's about, but SHOWS you the ending!

The plot is a complete mess. Everything falls apart the moment you realize that the cover and title together give it all away. Whoever wrote the blasted children's book was a complete air head. They had no judgement, and lots of error. You have to be a child to fail to understand what's happening in the would-be work of literature.

By far, this is the worst literature I have ever read.

Trilogatic

Trilogies are big. When sequels are made, there are either a ridiculous number of them, or there are three. A trilogy.

Unfortunately, movies break trilogy experiences. Whenever a trilogy of books is moved to the big screen, they split the last book into two. Now it is four books. Not a trilogy.

There's a word for a person who writes trilogies. This word is Trilogatic, or Trilogenerative. The definition is: Someone who writes trilogies.

Google it. What? No results?

Jim Blow's new word. Petition it, and put it in a dictionary.

SEVEN KINGDOMS SERIES IS GONNA BE A TRILOGY!!

Break

"There is a Blog Break this week. We apologize for the inconvenience to the saturday specials. Jim Blow took the day off to go see the new Avengers movie, and ended up spending the day googling upcoming Marvel/DC movies instead of writing to his fans. He is very self-centered and only cares about what he wants to do. Today, he wanted to look up movies. Sorry, but when we asked--begged--him to write on his blog, all he would say was 'Did you know they're making a [marvel movie, marvel movie, easter egg, secret, spoiler, marvel movie, dc movie, dc movie, etc, etc.]'. Sorry. See you next week!"
--The Reoccurring
(Jim Blow's Editors who have his back...and may be appearing in an upcoming book.)

Jim's Favorite Quotes (or at least some of them):

“Beneath the rule of men entirely great, the pen is mightier than the sword.”
--Edward George Bulwer Lytton
I love to write, and it has often occurred to me that in my writings, anything can happen. Through story, I have a sort of power to an extent. That is why, when I found this quote, I loved it. This quote puts things perfectly! In addition, more can be accomplished through writing, than through fighting. War is done by sword, but peace is done by pen.

Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.
--Leo Tolstoy
Each and every mood is a choice. We choose to be happy, and we choose to be sad. This quote is meaningful to me because that’s what it expresses. It says that we don’t just get to be happy when things around us are going well. Instead, we can be happy if we merely choose a better perspective!

Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.
--Benjamin Disraeli
There is always an effect to a cause. Everything we do brings about a result. For everything we do, something comes of it. Not all of our actions will bring about a positive result. However, if we don’t act at all, there will never be a chance of positive impact.

Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
--JRR Tolkien
Real friends stay with us until the end. There will always be trials for us. In those dark times of need, we must have someone to rely on. Those who can’t be there for us, will take off when trials come at us like tsunamis. We need people who will stand at our sides when those storms hit.

He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have.
--Socrates
People always want more. They can never truly be content with what they have, when there is something they don’t have. Even if they get that stuff they don’t have, they’ll still have an unhealthy desire to want more. We need to learn to be content, and thankful for what we do have, and not angry that we don’t have what we don’t.

Logic will get you from A to B.  Imagination will take you everywhere.
--Albert Einstein
In modern society, people do things very systematically. They’re almost like drones. We must get back to our lives. To our imagination. Doing things logically--never taking risks or chances with adventure--can only bring us so far. Imagination will take us wherever we want to go. We just have to let go, and be willing.

“Anger is the feeling that makes your mouth work faster than your mind.”
--Evan Esar
When in an angry state of mind--something we choose to be in--we aren’t very in control. It is at these times we say things we regret, and do things we did not mean to do. While we are angry, we say things we don’t mean, and we say a lot. We need to stay in control, choosing to be happy, despite the seemingly upsetting situation. A wise man is he who never has to apologize for things he said.

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is facing a harder battle.”
--Plato
People have a strange tendency to be selfish. They only ever care about themselves. Nobody could ever understand the pain they go through, because everyone else obviously has it easier. That is not true! We need to be kind to everyone, because it would surprise you how much harder their battles are, than yours.

“Quiet people have the loudest minds.”
--Stephen Hawking
Those who stay quiet are constantly thinking. There is so much going on in their heads. Extroverted people express everything that goes on in their mind. They can say so much, without ever saying very much at all.

“You can never build your happiness on someone else’s unhappiness.”
--Jeffrey R Holland
Some believe that the only way to achieve their own happiness, is at the expense of another’s happiness. This will never work. If you make someone unhappy, in the hopes of making yourself happy, in the end you will be more unhappy than they. Happiness is a choice. Attempting to strip somebody else of this joyous feeling is just wrong. It is a wrong that will haunt your own happiness forever.

Bonus!

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
--Thomas Edison

“Don’t worry about what I’m doing. Worry about why you’re worrying about what I’m doing.”
--Anonymous

Hello, and Good evening. If it is not yet evening, wait until it is before continuing.

My name is Jim Blow. I am an author (surprise!). Although I have no books published at this time, many are on their way.
Stay Tuned for a share in spoils weekly.
